Farmington air conditioning manufacturer Carrier has partnered with California clean energy installer SolarCity to market solar systems to Carrier customers.
Carrier is offering a $1,000 rebate on its equipment for homeowners that use SolarCity to install a clean energy array on their properties. The eligible equipment includes furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, or entire system upgrades.
Carrier decided to partner with SolarCity because using solar with high efficient heating and cooling equipment will lead to more intelligent home energy consumption in a more sustainable way, according to a statement released by the company.
SolarCity is one of the largest installers of solar arrays in the country and is a major operator in the Connecticut solar market.
