Hartford residential high-rise 777 Main St. installed its 400-kilowatt fuel cell from South Windsor’s Doosan.
Developer Bruce Becker, who will have tenants moving into his 285-apartment complex in the spring, received a special 15-year renewable energy contract last year from Berlin electric utility Connecticut Light & Power to buy the credits from the fuel cell, which was installed on Thursday.
Becker actually purchased the fuel cell before South Korean conglomerate Doosan took over the South Windsor fuel cell maker, back when it was owned by the now-bankrupt ClearEdge Power of California.
The high-rise is the second of Becker’s Connecticut properties to install a fuel cell. The first was 360 State St. in New Haven. For full article…
