The Connecticut Green Bank has extended its Solarize U program to Aug. 31 in order to get more signups for the shared discount pricing program.
Solarize U is very similar to the Green Bank’s Solarize CT program, where a solar installer will offer discounts to residents of a city or town depending on how many homeowners in that municipality sign up for a solar system. That program has operated in 58 cities and towns, installing 17 megawatts of solar at more than 2,000 homes.
Solarize U takes the same concept to faculty, staff, alumni and students’ families at Yale University, the University of Connecticut, Wesleyan University, Eastern Connecticut State University, the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University.
The point of the Solarize U program, other than to install more solar arrays, is to take the discount pricing concept out of geographic communities and apply it to affinity networks. To Green Guide.
